Start Nurturing From Within

Comprehensive

Psychiatric Evaluation

Your first visit is unhurried on purpose.

Nintey minutes sounds like a lot until you've been given 15. An accurate picture takes time, and you deserve to be heard before anything gets decided.

Together, we'll:

  • Explore your history: past diagnoses, treatments, and the experiences that shaped how you feel about getting care
  • Understand your present: mood, anxiety, trauma, stress, and how they show up in your daily life
  • Look at the bigger picture: sleep, physical health, lifestyle, and work stressors like burnout
  • Name what you're actually after: what healing looks like for you, in your words

If indicated, I may also recommend lab work to rule out physical contributors.

From there, we'll co-create a plan built around you. That might include individual psychotherapy, thoughtful medication management, holistic strategies like mindfulness or movement, and referrals to trusted providers when someone else is the better fit.

My goal is simple: clarity, compassion, and a roadmap, so you leave knowing what's going on, what's underneath it, and what comes next.

30-Minute Medication Management Session

This is more than a med check.

It's a focused visit dedicated to making sure your medications keep working with your life, not just on paper.

Together, we'll:

  • Review your symptoms and current medications: what's working, what isn't, and what needs a closer look
  • Talk through your experience: side effects, concerns, and preferences drive this conversation
  • Loop in your care team: therapy, primary care, and any other providers stay connected so your treatment holds together
  • Adjust and refine your plan: changes that fit where you are right now, not where you were at your last appointment

Your questions get answered. Your concerns get taken seriously. And your care keeps evolving with you.

55-Minute Medication Management with Supportive Therapy

Some conversations need more room than a half hour gives them. This is the appointment for those.

Fifty-five minutes, one provider, and enough time to dig deeper. Depending on what you need, that might mean:

  • Going deeper therapeutically: using evidence-based approaches to explore the roots of what you're carrying, whether that's trauma, burnout, anxiety, depression, or the weight of carrying everything all at once.

  • Taking a real look at your medications: the whole regimen, why each piece is there, what's earning its place, and what's worth reconsidering.

  • Bringing the whole picture into focus: what's happening in your body, your schedule, and your relationships is part of the clinical picture, not background noise

Is this the right appointment for you?

If any of these sound like you, then yes:

  • You want therapy and medication management together, with one provider who knows the whole story
  • You're taking several medications and want to go through the whole regimen properly instead of squeezing it into a check-in
  • You're facing a significant medication change and want time to talk it through
  • You're an established client and something came up that deserves a longer conversation

If you already have a therapist you value, we don't need to duplicate that work. I'd rather protect it. In that case, we'll use 30-minute medication visits, and I'll coordinate with your therapist so your care stays connected.

And if therapy is what you need but I'm not the right person, I'll tell you. I've built a deep bench of therapists I trust and refer to regularly, and I'd rather hand you to the right fit for your needs. If we go that route, I'll stay on the medication side and stay in touch with whoever you land with.

This is the appointment for when you want to do more than keep things stable.

Medical Professionals

I know what it costs to give everything to your patients while quietly carrying exhaustion, grief, and stress that nobody thinks to ask you about.

I've been there myself.

You already know the numbers on burnout among nurses and physicians. You've probably quoted them in a presentation. What's harder is admitting you're in them.

Let's name the thing that keeps most clinicians out of this chair. Worry about what getting care might mean for your license, your credentialing, or how you're seen at work. That fear is reasonable, and it deserves a straight answer, not reassurance. Bring it to the free consult call and ask me directly. I'd rather walk through it with you in fifteen minutes than have you sit on it for another year.

What you'll find here is a space where you don't have to translate. You don't have to explain what the shift was like, or why you cried in your car in the parking garage, or why "just take some time off" isn't a plan. Together we'll look at what's underneath the exhaustion and build something that fits the life and the schedule you actually have.

If medication would help, we'll discuss it the way two clinicians would, including the parts you already know and the parts you've been telling yourself don't apply to you. If it wouldn't help, I'll say that instead of writing something to move things along. And we'll look at everything medication doesn't touch. Nights and swings. Sleeping in daylight. Eating at 2 am or not at all. The drink that decompresses the shift and then becomes three. The workout you keep meaning to restart. These aren't lifestyle suggestions; they're clinical variables, and in your job, they're the ones nobody accounts for.

Because when you're cared for, you can keep doing this work without losing yourself in it.

Young Adults

You've been told you have a lot of potential for as long as you can remember. That's heavier to carry than people realize.

School, work, money, relationships, and a quiet expectation that you should have this figured out by now. Most people your age are managing all of it while also performing as if everything is just fine, and the performing is usually the most exhausting part.

This is a space where you don't have to pretend.

I'm a psychiatric nurse practitioner, so medication is on the table if it would help you. It just isn't the whole plan, and it isn't automatic. What we build usually pulls from three places: what's going on in your head, what's going on in your body, and what's going on in your week.

Together, we'll:

  • Figure out what's actually driving the anxiety or the low mood, not just how to cope with it
  • Look at the physical inputs nobody connects to mental health: sleep, caffeine, alcohol, cannabis, food, movement
  • Talk straight about medication, including whether you want it, what it would realistically do, and what it wouldn't
  • Build boundaries you can hold, including with people you love
  • Get clear on what you want, separate from what you've been told to want

Ambition isn't the problem. Running yourself into the ground to satisfy it is. We can work on the second part without touching the first.

Pre-Teens & Teens (10+)

If your teen or pre-teen is struggling, you've probably already tried a lot. Talking to them. Not talking to them. Waiting it out. Asking the pediatrician. Reading things at midnight that only made you feel worse.

Adolescence is genuinely harder than it used to be, and that isn't nostalgia talking. Academic pressure, social media, identity, and a world that keeps shifting faster than anyone can process it.

Your teen gets a space that's actually theirs. Somewhere they can say the true version out loud without having to manage anyone's reaction, including yours. Teenagers can spot an adult performing patience from across the room, so I don't bother performing.

We look at the whole picture before anything gets decided. Sleep, school, food, movement, screens, friendships, and what's happening at home all shape mood, and at this age they often explain more than a diagnosis does.

Medication is a conversation, not a starting point. If it would help, we'll talk it through together, including what it does, what it doesn't, and what to watch for. If it wouldn't help, I'll say so just as plainly. No teenager should end up on a prescription because it was faster than doing the work.

You stay in the loop. I'll be clear up front about what stays between me and your teen and what comes back to you, because trust running both directions is what makes any of this work. When it's useful, we bring the family in, since a lot of what a teen carries doesn't belong to them alone.

Hive Health is an LGBTQ+ affirming practice. Young people exploring gender identity, sexual orientation, or where they belong will find care here that starts from acceptance, not from questions they have to justify first.
